Down: A Short Story

The air rushed by her, and out of her. She was screaming. She quickly ran out of air though, and it was hard to catch her breath. Her heart was racing, the only noise was the wind in her ears. Hair got in her mouth, and when she went to pull it away, she started to spin. Spiraling down towards the ground. She held her arms out to her sides, and she slowly flattened out. And she kept falling

Then she pulled the release, the parachute billowing above her. The red fabric being the only thing protecting her from a messy demise. She looked over at her friends, who floated nearby. One started to laugh, unable to contain the shear energy from what they had just done. Anther one of her friends joined in, until the sound of laughter was all that could be heard. Between gales of laughter one if her friends shouted, "Best trip EVER!" And every one agreed. Nothing is much is better than skydiving in New Zealand.
